Bale to take on Batman
Chris Beckett, South Wales Echo
HOLY Haverfordwest! A Welshman is going to play the caped crusader.
Pembrokeshire-born Christian Bale - who has been tipped as a future James Bond - will take the lead role in a film focusing on Batman's early years.
The 29-year-old, who starred in American Psycho, will become the first British actor to don the batsuit, following in the footsteps of Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer and George Clooney.
The movie will be shot by Memento director Christopher Nolan. He said: "What I see in Christian is the ultimate embodiment of Bruce Wayne."
