the Comic-Con Convention in San Diego. The screening will take place on Friday,

Christian Bale plays a factory worker who has not slept in a year. His world
becomes a living nightmare when cryptic notes turn up in his apartment and visions
of a co-worker that no one else can see. Are these events a result of his lack
of sleep or are they the cause? Jennifer Jason Leigh, Michael Ironside, Aitana

BATMAN BEGINS trailer coming soon
By Patrick Sauriol, Cinescape
The original source that told us the first teaser trailer for BATMAN BEGINS would possibly play with prints of I, ROBOT has returned and provided us hard proof of their claims. We have seen the evidence ourselves that Warner Bros. has struck a deal with 20th Century Fox to ship the trailer for BATMAN BEGINS with prints of Fox's I, ROBOT to theaters across the continent. I, ROBOT will begin its theatrical run on July 16, and that will also be the same day that the trailer for BATMAN BEGINS will be seen.
We have also been able to confirm the running time of the BATMAN trailer: it's one minute, five second in length. There is still no news on what imagery is contained in the BATMAN BEGINS trailer, but this should be remedied shortly when theater owners begin receiving the movie reels of I, ROBOT and view it for themselves. We are interested in reading your descriptions of the BATMAN trailer when you see it, and as always, our email form is available for you to send in your scoop.
Trailers for two other Warner Bros. films will also be spotted on movie screens, but this time they'll be running before the end of the week. Look for trailers for Oliver Stone's ALEXANDER and EXORCIST: THE BEGINNING running in front of movies playing this coming Friday. We expect all three new trailers to be made available online shortly before or after their release to theaters.

Christian Bale Lands on 'New World' for Malick
By Chris Gardner
LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - "Batman Begins" star Christian Bale (news) is boarding director Terrence Malick's 17th century American epic "The New World."
David Thewlis, Noah Taylor and Q'orianka Kilcher have also joined the cast, which already includes Colin Farrell, Christopher Plummer, August Schellenberg and Wes Studi.
The New Line project is described as an epic adventure set amid the encounter of European and Native American cultures following the founding of the Jamestown settlement in 1607 and inspired by the legend of John Smith and Pocahontas.
Bale will play English tobacco planter John Rolfe. Thewlis is to star as Smith's rival Capt. Wingfield, Taylor is signed on as Selway, one of the initial English settlers with Kilcher set to make her feature debut as Pocahontas.
The film is being pegged for a November 2005 rollout.
Bale, who next stars in Paramount Classics' "The Machinist" in October, landed the title role in the new Batman installment "Batman Begins," which is scheduled for release next June.
Thewlis is currently in theaters with "Harry Potter (news - web sites) and the Prisoner of Azkaban." He can next be seen in the Ridley Scott-directed drama "Kingdom of Heaven" for Fox.
Taylor was last in theaters with "Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life." Kilcher, a distant cousin of pop singer Jewel, landed the Pocahontas part following an eight-month search that considered thousands of actresses.

"Newbie" detected the following article about how today's Hollywood Leading Man is more sensitive, than muscular (i.e. Arnold Schwarzenegger) in the New York Times today. It had a bit mention of CB:
"Warner took a chance in casting Christian Bale, a character actor in independent films, as the superhero of "Batman Begins," which is in production. Mr. Bale, who is Welsh, appears starvation-thin in the forthcoming indie "The Machinist" and played the deranged yuppie killer in "American Psycho."
