Make sure to get a copy of the SFX magazine (Issue 123) - out in the shops in Great Britain on September 29th, 2004. It features Batman on the cover and includes a comprehensive 9 pages feature on the movie. "If you're not excited about Batman Begins after reading this, ask a friend to check if you've still got a pulse."
Woodstock Film Festival (October 13 - 17, 2004)
Returning once again with its mantra "Fiercely Independent," the Woodstock Film Festival has unveiled plans for its fifth edition. Brad Anderson's "The Machinist" will screen the first night in neighboring Rhinebeck. "The Machinist" is a psychological thriller starring Christian Bale who plays a man who has not slept in a year, spending his waking moments in a nightmare of terror.

Soundtrack legends eye Batman film
Film composers James Newton Howard and Hans Zimmer are in talks about collaborating on the soundtrack for the upcoming Batman movie 'Batman Begins'.
The Hollywood Reporter quotes a spokesperson for Howard as saying that the collaboration deal was "very likely to happen", with exact details being confirmed towards the New Year.
Howard, whose credits include 'The Village', 'Pretty Woman' and 'ER', is a five-time Oscar nominee, while Zimmer won the Academy Award for his work on 'The Lion King' and also has five other nominations.
Directed by 'Memento' helmer Christopher Nolan, 'Batman Begins' stars Christian Bale in the title role, with Liam Neeson, Michael Caine, Katie Holmes and Cillian Murphy also part of the all-star cast.

Christian is in England filming the last bits of Batman Begins. Bale gave an interesting interview on September 14, 2004, during a break in filming on the movie's massive Gotham City set outside London. The interview is available at Sci Fi Wire - the News Service of the Sci Fi Channel.

IFP Markets Sets Opening and Closing Films for 2004 Event

A pair of new independent films have been set to bookend this year's IFP Market & Conference, running September 19 - 24 in Manhattan. Brad Anderson's "The Machinist" will open the Market, while Rodney Evans' "Brother to Brother" will serve as a closing night film at the annual event.
Actor Christian Bale stars in "The Machinist," a film that debuted earlier this year at Sundance and was later acquired by Paramount Classics. The film will have a red carpet premiere on Monday, September 20th at New York's Ziegfeld Theater to mark the beginning of the 26th annual IFP Market and Conference. The director and cast are expected to attend the gala kick-off.
