Bale prepared himself for "difficult" Crowe
Actor CHRISTIAN BALE was bracing himself for an uncomfortable time on the set of new movie 3:10 TO YUMA - because he'd been warned his Australian co-star RUSSELL CROWE was difficult to work with.
But the 33-year-old was left surprised when Crowe turned out
to be not just friendly, but the "easiest damn guy I've ever worked with".
He says, "Everyone said, 'Man, you're going to have a tough time.' And
I thought, 'Bring it on! Come on, buddy, give me the best you got!' "I
tell ya, he was the easiest damn guy I've ever worked with. He was so simple.
We got along so well, and he just appreciates people who know what they're
doing - that's it. He's a good guy."

Justice League of America
... And Batman? If Justice League starts production early ‘08 that would give Bale a three to five month break between “Batman” films. Would he do it? Would the production team behind the Batman films be accommodating? Would they allow one of their three-picture-options with Bale to be used on an ensemble film? Would Justice League be the last Batman film that Bale takes part in?
Those questions are the ones I have been trying to get answered but have not been able to get anyone to comment officially.
I want to be very clear about this, I want to see a JLA film very badly and I am pretty certain that George Miller will direct. The problem that I have is I can’t foresee the Nolan camp, including producer Charles Roven, to lose the third stand-alone Batman film by allowing Bale to JLA instead. Maybe Warners should bring a few of the Batman/TDK producers on board the JLA production to keep that camp happy.
Bottom line, the decision will come from Warner Bros., both Christian Bale and Brandon Routh are signed for a total of three films and one film can be an ensemble pic.
I have to wonder if they are willing to pay the huge amount of money to Bale to keep him for possible future JLA and Batman films. I definitely think he’s worth it but it’s not my checkbook.
Routh’s price tag is no where near Bale’s and I’d bet he’d be willing to do possible future JLA and Superman films. ...

Bale refuses entourage
contactmusic.com
Actor CHRISTIAN BALE refuses to have an entourage accompany him on the film set, branding the act of fronting a group of hangers-on pretentious. The Batman star says he will never hire an assistant as he prefers to take care of his own affairs. He says, "I'm the last person to have any kind of posse. "I've always been a loner - I can't stand having people around me too much. I don't have an assistant ever because I know I would end up just throwing them out of the room. "I like my private time and I am not incapable. I can still do things for myself. A lot of people seem to think that as soon as they start earning above a certain pay cheque they become incapable. "I can still wipe my own arse".
And that is exactly the attitude we all appreciate so very much!

The Dark Knight Strikes!
DC and Warner Bros. announce Saturday night event for the ‘Batman Begins’ sequel
On Saturday night, things are going to get a bit darker at Wizard World Chicago.
As a last-minute addition to the convention’s programming slate, DC Comics announced today that its partners at Warner Bros. Pictures will be holding a panel for the Christopher Nolan-helmed “The Dark Knight” at 6 p.m. tomorrow in the Dave Cockrum Room at Wizard World Chicago. In accordance with the shroud of secrecy already surrounding the “Batman Begins” sequel, the ticket-only event will be kept under the tightest security, with a ban on all cameras, phones, recording devices and any other electronics. To gain entrance to the panel, fans will have to line up at 10 a.m. Saturday at the DC Comics booth on the convention show floor for one of the passes to the 1,200-seat room.
And while DC and Warners have made no statements as to what the panel’s programming will consist of, the camera ban alone hints that footage from the film, which features Christian Bale reprising his role as the titular hero as well as Heath Ledger as the Joker, Michael Caine as Alfred and Maggie Gyllenhaal stepping into the part of Rachel Dawes, will be revealed for the first time anywhere. And considering the fact that “The Dark Knight” is filming in the Windy City, an appearance by cast or crew members is possible.
Stayed tuned to wizarduniverse.com for a full report of what’s said and seen at the panel.
