Dark Knight Star's Lawyers issue statement over arrest
Christian Bale's legal team have released a statement responding to reports of an alleged assault. The star of The Dark Knight was arrested over allegations of assault after attending a central London police station by appointment on Tuesday. Reports had claimed Bale lashed out at his mother and sister in his suite at the Dorchester hotel in London on Sunday.
A statement released from his legal team confirms that he attended a police station on a voluntary basis over the allegations made by his mother and sister.
"Mr Bale who denies the allegation, co-operated throughout, gave his account in full of the events in question, and has left the station without any charge being made against him by the police," the statement added.
"At this time, there will be no further comment by Mr Bale."
The actor was in the capital for the European premiere of the latest Batman film, The Dark Knight, in Leicester Square on Monday night. Having earned $155.3 million (£77.7 million) in its first three days on release, the Batman Begins sequel has cemented the biggest opening weekend in film history.
The Dark Knight is released on July 24th in the UK

Christian in the press
I noticed that in many articles and reports authors have already pinned down the accusations as given facts when in fact they are not facts yet. That's why they are actually being investigated!
As long as something is not based on facts and verified, it should also be presented accordingly.
Currently there are new articles and reports popping up almost any minute coming up with new details and versions of what is supposed to have really happened. So I wonder if the same people who reported in such lengths on the matter as an already given fact before, will also take the necessary time and effort to correct their writings, should it turn out that the version they presented already as the hard fact didn't really happen that way! But as this is not half as interesting, I doubt they will. Damage done, who cares?!

Bail for Bale over assault claim
Batman star Christian Bale has been bailed by police after being questioned about allegations he assaulted his mother and sister. The star, 34, was arrested and held for more than four hours after attending a London police station by appointment. Mr Bale is alleged to have lashed out at his mother and sister in his suite at London's Dorchester Hotel on Sunday. The actor, who denies the allegation, has been released on bail until September pending further inquiries.
The Welsh-born actor is in the UK to promote the latest Batman film, The Dark Knight. The actor was questioned at Belgravia police station for four hours. "A 34-year-old man attended a police station in central London by appointment and was arrested in connection with an allegation of assault," a police spokesman said.
A statement released by Mr Bale's solicitors said the actor "co-operated throughout, gave his account in full of the events in question, and left the station without any charge".
"At this time, there will be no further comment by Mr Bale," the statement continued.

We expect this matter to be fully settled soon with facts. Everything else at this point is mere speculation and fodder for the press who is known to be hell-bent for news like that! And as we all know there are always two sides to a story.

The Dark Knight
Batman Strikes $66.4M Box Office Record
Batman's joust with the Joker has set another box-office record.
Stoked by fan fever over the manic performance of the late
Heath Ledger as the Joker, "The Dark Knight" set a one-day box-office
record with $66.4 million on opening day, Warner Bros. head of distribution
Dan Fellman said Saturday.
The movie's Friday haul surpassed the previous record of $59.8 million set
last year by "Spider-Man 3." "The Dark Knight" might
break the opening-weekend record of $151.1 million also held by "Spider-Man
3." "I think they're in jeopardy," Fellman said of the "Spider-Man
3" record.
"The Dark Knight" began with a record $18.5 million from midnight
screenings, topping the previous high of $16.9 million for "Star Wars:
Episode III - The Revenge of the Sith." The opening day grosses for
"The Dark Knight" far exceeded the full weekend haul of its predecessor
"Batman Begins," which took in $48.7 million in its first three
days in 2005. Reviews were excellent for director Christopher Nolan's "Batman
Begins," but they were stellar for his "Dark Knight."

Heath Ledger's parents pay tribute to 'fantastic' son at emotional Batman premiere
The family of Heath Ledger, the Australian actor who died seven months ago from a drugs overdose, made an emotional journey to New York for the premiere of The Dark Knight, the latest in the Batman series and the last film he completed.
At the world opening last night, his co-stars queued up to pay tribute and said Ledger should win an Academy Award as best supporting actor. Ledger is now widely tipped to win a posthumous Oscar for his role as The Joker.
Ledger’s family - his father Kim, sister Kate and mother Sally Bell and stepmother Ines - all attended the New York opening along with his long-time ex-girlfriend actress Naomi Watts. His father described the experience as 'bittersweet.' Mr Ledger signalled his approval for the film and his son’s performance by giving a thumbs-up as he left the cinema.
At the premiere in Lincoln Square, Sir Michael Caine led the tributes to his performance.
Sir Michael, 75, who plays butler Alfred Pennyworth in the film, noted the 'intensity and ferocity of the performance'. 'But when we were sitting down between takes, he was completely ordinary,' Caine added. 'He wasn’t preparing himself or saying "Please leave me alone, I’ve gotta do this". 'We would sit and chat and have a cup of coffee, then suddenly they’d say, "We’re ready, Heath," and he’d go straight into The Joker. 'His energy was astonishing, he’s certainly the best villain I’ve ever seen.' Caine added: 'My favourite part is the opening monologue of Heath Ledger as The Joker, it’s one of the best close-ups I’ve ever seen in my life.
'He was a young actor and this is his moment. He did Brokeback Mountain which was fine and he never got the Oscar. He’s going to get the Oscar for this.'
Christian Bale, who plays Batman in the Christopher Nolan-directed film, said: 'Working with Heath was fantastic. He steals the movie and I’m quite happy to say that. 'He’s a hell of a talent and created a Joker that’s very iconic and one that will become a classic portrayal of the ages.'
