King Herdal and his son are brutally murdered by the King's evil brother Fenge, who claims the crown and the grieving Queen Geruth as his own. But the King's remaining son, Prince Amled, has witnessed the murders and sets out to take revenge for the slaying of his family.

This re-telling of the Hamlet legend is released in Europe under the title of PRINCE OF JUTLAND. The US version of the movie is titled ROYAL DECEIT. This Miramax release provides a different cut of the movie and is shorter.
